Sensei Michelle Gall: Judo Instructor/Vice President/ National Referee
Michelle Davis is an instructor and vice president of the Bushido Judo School. She has a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Cornell University in Ithaca, where she started judo training in 1971. She currently holds a Sandan (Third Degree Black Belt) in Judo. She also trained in Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu Karate and holds fourth degree black belt ranks in karate and weapons arts. Michelle practiced Judo at the Durham YMCA and competed in many tournaments. She finished third in the 1980 National Sports Festival judo competition. Michelle and her children John and Agnes began training with the Bushido Judo School in 1995 at the Durham Recreation Department. Both of Michelle's children are first degree black belt judo and karate students. Michelle has USJA coaching training and referee training.
